Once upon a time, a monkey and a tortoise were friends. They often spent time together in the forest, and one day, the monkey boasted about how fast he could run. The tortoise, slow and steady, listened quietly. To settle who was faster, the monkey challenged the tortoise to a race.
The race began, and the monkey immediately raced ahead, leaping from tree to tree. Confident of his victory, he stopped to rest, thinking he had plenty of time. Meanwhile, the tortoise, moving at his own slow pace, kept going without stopping. The tortoise passed the sleeping monkey and continued on his path.
When the monkey finally woke up, he saw the tortoise near the finish line. Panicked, he dashed to catch up, but it was too late. The tortoise had already won the race.
The monkey, feeling embarrassed, learned an important lesson that day: "Slow and steady wins the race." The tortoise showed that perseverance and patience can often lead to success, even when others seem to have the advantage. From that day on, the monkey never underestimated the value of steady effort.
