<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , serif; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; text-align: justify;">Once there lived a monkey in a jamun tree by a
river. The monkey was alone - he had no friends, no family, but he was happy
and content. The jamun tree gave him plenty of sweet fruit to eat, and shade
from the sun and shelter from the rain.</span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , serif; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; text-align: justify;"></span>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">One day a crocodile came swimming up the river
and climbed on to the bank to rest under the monkey's tree. 'Hello', called the
monkey, who was a friendly animal. 'Hello', replied the crocodile, surprised.
'Do you know where I can get some food?' he asked. 'I haven't had anything to
eat all day - there just don't seem to be any fish left in the river.'<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">Monkey talking with crocodile<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">'Well,' said the monkey, 'I don't eat fish so I
wouldn't know - but I do have plenty of ripe purple jamuns in my tree. Would
you like to try some?' He threw some down to the crocodile. The crocodile was
so hungry that he ate up all the jamuns even though crocodiles don't eat fruit.
He loved the sweet tangy fruit and shyly asked whether he could have some more.
'Of course', replied the monkey generously, throwing down more fruit. 'Come
back whenever you feel like more fruit', he added when the crocodile had eaten
his fill.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">After that the crocodile would visit the monkey
every day. The two animals soon became friends - they would talk and tell each
other stories, and eat as much of the sweet jamuns as they wanted. The monkey
would throw down all the fruit the crocodile wanted from his tree.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">One day the crocodile began talking about his
wife and family. 'Why didn't you tell me earlier that you had a wife?' asked
the monkey. 'Please take some of the jamuns for her as well when you go back
today.' The crocodile thanked him and took some of the fruit for his wife.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">The crocodile's wife loved the jamuns. She had
never eaten anything so sweet before. 'Imagine', she said, 'how sweet would be
the creature who eats these jamuns every day. The monkey has eaten these every
day of his life - his flesh would be even sweeter than the fruit.' She asked
her husband to invite the monkey for a meal - 'and then we can eat him up' she
said happily.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">The crocodile was appalled - how could he eat his
friend? He tried to explain to his wife that he could not possibly eat the
monkey. 'He is my only true friend', he said. But she would not listen - she
must eat the monkey. 'Since when do crocodiles eat fruit and spare animals?'
she asked. When the crocodile would not agree to eat the monkey, she pretended
to fall very sick. 'Only a monkey's heart can cure me', she wailed to her
husband. 'If you love me you will get your friend the monkey and let me eat his
heart.'<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">The poor crocodile did not know what to do - he
did not want to eat his friend, but he could not let his wife die. At last he
decided to bring the monkey to his wife.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">'O dear friend', he called as soon as reached the
jamun tree. ' My wife insists that you come to us for a meal. She is grateful
for all the fruit that you have sent her, and asks that I bring you home with
me.' The monkey was flattered, but said he could not possibly go because he did
not know how to swim. 'Don't worry about that', said the crocodile. 'I'll carry
you on my back.' The monkey agreed and jumped onto the crocodile's back.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , serif; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%; text-align: justify;">The crocodile swam with him out into the deep
wide river. When they were far away from the bank and the jamun tree, he said,
'My wife is very ill. The only thing that will cure her is a monkey's heart.
So, dear friend, this will be the end of you and of our friendship.' The monkey
was horrified. What could he do to save himself? He thought quickly and said
'Dear friend, I am very sorry to hear of your wife's illness and I am glad that
I will be able to help her. But I have left my heart behind on the jamun tree.
Do you think we could go back so that I can fetch it for your wife?'</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">The crocodile believed the monkey. He turned and
swam quickly to the jamun tree. The monkey leaped off his back and into the
safety of his tree. 'False and foolish friend,' he called. 'Don't you know that
we carry our hearts within us? I will never trust you again or ever give you
fruit from my tree. Go away and don't come back again.'<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "adobe garamond pro" , "serif"; font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">The crocodile felt really foolish - he had lost a
friend and a supply of good sweet fruit. The monkey had saved himself because
he had thought quickly. He realised that a monkey and a crocodile could never
be true friends - crocodiles preferred to eat monkeys rather than be friends
with them.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One day, the lion fell-sick. He could not go out. But he was very hungry. He called the jackal and said, "Dear friend, I am hungry. But, I am too sick to hunt. You have to help me get some food".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The jackal went off in search of prey. He found a donkey at last. He said to the donkey, "Hello, Donkey Sir! The king of the forest wants to make you his minister". The foolish donkey was too happy to think of the plot. He followed the jackal. The lion killed the donkey. But, before eating, he felt so thirsty. He said to the jackal, “Take care of the donkey. I will return in no time".</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once upon a time there lived many pigeons of different colors in a farm. But out of them grey headed pigeons were many in number. The owner of the farm fed them regularly with grains. This was noticed by a jackdaw who lived near the farm. The jackdaw looked at the pigeons which were well fed and leading a happy life in the farm house. The Jackdaw envied at the pigeons every day.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

It painted his body like that of a pigeon. Then he joined the pigeons as one of them. Thus he was able to enjoy the grains daily. This continued for several days. But the pigeons never suspected him..</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">But one day after a heavy feed, the jackdaw could not control himself. He started singing in enthusiasm and the pigeons noticed this strange voice. They came to know that he was not one among them. Out of anger all the pigeons pecked at the jackdaw so mercilessly that he began to bleed severely.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The jackdaw flew away to save his life and went straight to his own group of birds, the jackdaws. But because of his painted body, they refused to accept him. So he was forced to flee away from that place in order to save his life. Thus he became a homeless wanderer throughout his life. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once upon a time there lived a crow on a banyan tree. Everyday he used to watch with utter wonder the acts of an eagle. The eagle was used to stay a big tree that grows top of the mountain. He used to swoop down from there get hold of a rabbit and fly up again to the nest for its food. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One day, he was so excited that he wanted to imitate like the eagle. So up he flew as high as he could. From there, he began to swoop down towards the rabbit. He came down and down. But alas, he could not control himself. He crashed on the ground and broke his beak.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">“Hello, dear cock! I bring you news from Heaven. There is a new order laid for us. From now on, all birds and animals shall become friends and live together in peace”.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It was the fox’s turn to be surprised, “Friends! Who are coming? What do you mean?. The cock answered “I can see some Hounds coming. Let us wait for them”.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">On hearing the words ‘Hounds’ the fox got annoyed. He started to run away. The cock asked “Why are you running? What happened to our friendship?”. The only reply was “Forget it”.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was a hot summer day. A fox was feeling very hungry. He came from the jungle towards the seashore and searched food here and there. He could find anything. He just saw a small crab. He caught the crab with some hesitation. This is a small crab it can't feel my stomach. But I am hungry I should kill it and eat. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then the fox was about to kill the crab a hare </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">ran that way from the near by bush. The fox became greedy. He thought, instead of eating this small crab let me eat the big hare. He let the crab go and went behind the hare. But, the hare had vanished into the bushes. The fox now felt sorry for letting the crab off.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">When his son came back from the school at evening he cried for food. The mother told him that she kept some groundnuts in the pitcher for him. The boy put his hand into that pitcher to get some nuts. But he took such big amount of nuts with his hand. So that he could not draw his hand out again. There he stood, unwilling to leave a single groundnuts and yet unable to get them all out at once. He felt angry and disappointed because he was unable to get his hand out. He began to cry.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">His mother watching him from a distance. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Long long time there was a fighting between the birds and animals. All birds fought with their might against the animals and the animals gave fierce battle. The bats were indecisive. They thought “We can join with the birds because we can fly. We can also join with the animals because we don’t lay eggs. Anyway, we will wait and join with the winners”.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">At one stage the birds were having a winning hand. The bats thought, “This is the time, we’ll join with the birds”. But lo! The times changed. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">After a long time the battle ended and the birds and animals came to compromise. But both now neglected the bats.That is the reason bats began to live in holes.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The wolf opened his mouth wide. The crane immediately pulled out the bone piece. Swiftly the wolf started to walk away. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once a carpenter was working hard to divide a log into two parts. He was sawing the wood from morning to noon, but was able to cut only half-way through. He was hungry. So he pushed a wedge into the split and went for lunch.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">A monkey was watching the carpenter. He became curious of the wedge. He climbed down from the tree and went unto the log. He tried to pull the wedge. It did not yield.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">He sat on the log with legs on each side. The tail was dangling down through the split. He tried again and again. All of a sudden, the wedge came out. The log stuck together with a snap cutting off the dancing tail with it.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Once upon a time there lived a King Cobra in a jungle. He always fed on bird’s egg, lizards, rats, frogs, small rabbits and other small creatures lived in the jungle. Every day he ate lot of small animals and then slept the whole day. In course of time he grew big in size and his pride grew bigger still.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">One day the cobra thought, “I am the mightiest animal in the forest. I am the king of the forest. Now I must live in a big house that suits my size and status.” So he selected a very big tree for his new house. There was an ant hill under the tree. The King Cobra said, “I don’t want this trouble here.” So he went to the ant hill and said to the ants, “I am King Cobra, the King of this forest. I order you to remove this rubbish from here and go off immediately.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The other animals trembled in the cobra’s presence. But the tiny ants are decided to treat for his threat. He enraged himself and he lashed at the ant hill with his tail to break the mountain. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The next moment, thousands of ants streamed out of the ant hill. They climbed all over the cobra’s large body and stung him hard. Thousands of thorny pricks all over his body caused unbearable pain to the mighty cobra. He wriggled and rolled in vain to keep the ants off. He struggled hard for some time and at last died a painful death.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">While it was crossing the bridge it saw his reflection in the water from the bridge. </span><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">He could not follow that it was his shadow. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Being greedy by nature he wanted that bone too. So as his nature it barked at the other dog. His bone fell into the water and vanished in a second. The dog has lost the bone for his greediness. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once upon a time there lived a stag in a dense forest. It looks beautiful because of his horns. Once it was thirsty. He went to a pool to quench his thirst. The water was so clear that the stag could see his reflection quite vividly.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">On seeing his antler’s image in the water the stag felt very proud of their beauty. But suddenly on seeing his fore-legs being very slender the stag felt very sad without thinking that they gave him his high speed. After quenching his thirst, the stag raised his head and was shocked to see a lion nearing him. So, he took to his heels and the lion was left far behind.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Once upon a time there lived a hare and a tortoise in a forest. They were good friends. But the hare always boasted that he was able to move faster than other animals in this forest.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">At this, the tortoise felt humiliated. So one day he challenged the hare in a race. They made the fox as a supervisor, and the crow as a judge.I There was a starting point and a point marking the end, fixed by the fox. Both the competitors started their race at the same time. The hare ran faster. He was naturally much ahead of his fellow friend.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Now on the way the hare wanted to take a little rest under a tree. Because he saw that tortoise was much distance. Soon the hare felt asleep.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">On the other hand, the tortoise moved slowly but steadily without any rest. He reached the destination before the hare arrived. When the hare woke up, he found that he was defeated by the tortoise.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Once upon a time, there lived a group of wolves in the forest. The wolves hunted animals in the forest and the nearby village every day, but they did not have a leader to judge their works. Therefore, one day, the wolves decided to select a leader among them.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Thus, a wolf was selected as the leader. The leader wolf lectured others about the deeds they should do, but did not do them himself. One fine morning, the leader called his fellow wolves and said, “Dear friends! What I am about to say is very important. All of us should be selfless, because it is evil to be greedy. Therefore, I have made a law that while hunting, if you see that any of our brothers is hungry; then you should share some food to them."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The other wolves were very impressed. They said, “Hear! Hear! We have a fine leader. We should do as he says.” They started their works and went to jungle for hunting.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">An Ass who was listening to them said, “O master wolf! Let us begin the selflessness with the sheep that you killed last night and hid in your cave.” Because you kept that one for your food. Can you share that food with your old mother who is so seek and can't hunt anymore. The leader wolf ran away quickly to his cave, so that no one could eat his food.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Moral: Act before you said.</span></div>
